The « 20km de Paris» is an international off-stadium race with a bronze IAAF label, measuring a distance of 20 kilometers through the streets of Paris and the Bois de Boulogne.

The race will take place on Sunday, October 14 th 2018, starting at 10:00. The Pont d’Iéna will be the starting point of the race, the arrival will be at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower.

The course of 20 Kilometers of Paris is in accordance with the rules of events outside the stadium (IAAF and FFA).


Under the aegis of the Paris City Council and with the assistance of the Paris Police Prefecture, the 40th edition of the 20 km de Paris is organized by:

In order to take part of the race, a runner must fulfill some conditions :
A – age
The event is open to runners with or without athletic licenses, born in 2000 or earlier. It is expressly stated that runners who participate in this event do so under their sole and exclusive responsibility.

B – medical certificate

According to the Sport regulation, article 231-2-1 , the participation in this event requires the presentation of one of the following:

– An Athlé compétition, Athlé Entreprise, Athlé option Running license, or a « Pass Running », issued by the FFA and valid on race day;

– An FFCO, FFPM, FF Tri, UNSS or UGSEL, licence, bearing the mention « Running » and valid on race day;

– A Triathlon license, issued by the French Triathlon Federation (FFTriathlon) and valid on race day;

– or a sports license valid at the date of the event, issued by a federation only approved (list available on  ), on which must appear, by all means, the mention of non-contra-indication to the practice of sport in competition or running (or athletics) in competition;

– For non-licensed runners, a medical certificate that was issued less than one year before the day of the race and that bears the obligatory mention of no contraindication to the practice of running (or athletics) in competition.

Foreign participants, even with an athletics licence, must provide a medical certificate written in French OR translated in French.

Please note : if possible, runners must send a copy of the medical form and keep the original. Also, if possible, runners should bring the medical form to pick-up their race number to face any possible problem.

Articles L.231-2 and L.231-3 of the Sports Code and the law of 5 April 2006 on the fight against doping and the health of athletes oblige all French or foreign riders to provide proof their ability to run in competition, aptitude justified by a medical certificate.

C – registration fees

The registration fees also include a tee-shirt, a medal and a refueling every 5 kilometers. The cost is :

– 40 € for the first 7000 bibs;
– € 43 for the next 8,000;
– 46 € for the following
– a single fee of € 38 for FFA licensees (only Athlé Competition, Athlé Entreprise, Athlé Running) and holders of a ‘J’aime Courir’ pass.

41 € or 47 € for group registration according to the closing date of the group.

Promotional offers may be offered.

D – race number

The athlete must wear, visibly throughout the entire competition, the bib provided by the organization.

E – acceptance of the rules

Registration for this event implies that you accept the terms and conditions specified here.




A – general informations

Registrations are open from Wednesday, February 14, 2018 on the website All entries are firm and final and can not be reimbursed for any reason whatsoever, except for riders who have subscribed to the « cancellation insurance » option (see E- Insurance cancellation).

B – disabled runners – wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are allowed, except the « Handibyke » one. Cask is mandatory. The chair must have a brake system.

A different ranking will be used.

C – disabled runners – standing

Running disabled runners are allowed.

D – Joëlette

The participation of joëlettes is allowed. They will be positioned initially in a dedicated SAS. The joëlettes will leave in a single wave at best after the Preferential 2. By way of derogation from the recommendations of the FFA, the number of accompanying persons is limited to 8. The person in the joëlette, as well as the accompanying persons will be provided with bibs and will be classified.
Warning: An escort who does not arrive at the same time as the joëlette could be disqualified.

E- Cancellation insurance

When you register, you have the option to subscribe an optional cancellation insurance for € 7. This insurance gives you the right to reimbursement, upon presentation of medical evidence, in case of accident, health problem or pregnancy. The amount of the refund corresponds to the price of the registration paid by the rider less € 3 of management fees. To be valid, this option must be taken at the time of registration.






Race numbers will be distributed upon presentation of an ID card, along with the official voucher that will be sent by race organisers to all runners by email, at the Place Joffre on Friday 12th from 10:00am to 8:00pm or Saturday 13th of October, 2016, from 10:00am to 7:00pm. If you did not submit an athletic license or medical certificate when you registered for the race, you will be required to present one of these documents when you pick up your race number.

To pick-up someone else’s race number, you must provide a copy of his ID.

No race number pick-up on Sunday 14th October.

Bib transfer
All commitment is personal, firm and definitive. No registration transfer is authorized for any reason whatsoever except for the official platform for the resale of bibs duly accredited by the 20 Kilometers of Paris. Any person retroceding his bib, even free of charge, to a third person will be recognized as responsible in the event of an accident occurring or caused by the latter during the event. The organization declines all responsibility in the event of an accident in this type of situation.



The race will apply the FFA rules.

A – jury

The judges have been appointed by the FFA, and their decision is final and may not be appealed.

B – Competitors assistance

Any help to runners, including refreshment outside the specific areas, is forbidden.

C – follower

No follower is allowed.

D – time limit

Participants must complete the course within 2 hours 50 minutes. After the end-of-race vehicle has passed, any remaining runners must comply with the rules of the Highway Code.


E – timing system

The timing system used is the B-Tag (Chronotrack): a chip, in the form of a strip, is glued to the bib. Intermediate timings are performed every 5 kilometers. In order for your time to be validated on arrival, you must run the entire race on the road and have validated your time on all intermediate times.

All entrants will be given a bib with an electronic chip (tape stuck behind each bib) which will be automatically initialized on the starting line and serve as race control every 5 km. A competitor not traveling on the roadway can not be classified on arrival.

F – headphones

Headphones and earphones are allowed, under the responsibility of the runner.




The organizers take out insurance covering the consequences of their civil liability and those of their agents. Proof may be provided to any participant who requests it. This guarantee will intervene in addition or in the absence of other insurance which could play elsewhere.

Except if they have given up, FFA athletes are covered by a « personal injury » insurance. It is highly recommended that other participants take out an individual accident insurance, covering the bodily injury to which their sporting practice may expose them (Article L. 321 of the Sport Code).

The organizer declines all responsibility in case of damage (theft, breakage, loss, etc.) suffered by the personal property of the participants, even if he has custody. Participants will not be able to turn against the Organizer for any damage to their equipment. The subscription of an insurance guaranteeing these risks is the responsibility of each one.




A – ranking

There will be at least a male scratch ranking and a female scratch ranking.

There is a ranking for every category defined by the French Athletics Federation. Runners will receive their category’s ranking and their scratch’s ranking.

There is a separate ranking for disabled runners : one for wheelchairs and one for standing.

B – awards

A cup will be awarded to the first 3 of the scratch classification of the categories « Man » and « Woman »

A cup will be awared to the first 3 of the Handisports « wheelchairs » competition.

A medal and a diploma to be downloaded will be given to all arrivals.

E – results publication

Results will be published on the 20km de Paris website. Temporary results will be published on Sunday aftternoon (day of the race), and  data and official and definitive the following Sunday.


In accordance with the so-called « Informatique et Libertés » law, participants may oppose the publication of their results on these sites in case of legitimate reason (for the FFA, directly request it at




Refreshments will be given every 5 kilometers and at the arrival.




Road safety and medical security adapted to the number of competitors and to the duration of the race are ensured on the course. Healthcare services may decide to exclude a competitor for medical reasons.

A- Ways Used
The competition takes place partly on tracks open to traffic, competitors must imperatively borrow the right side of the road

B- Security of competitors
The « Secours » system is implemented jointly by the Civil Protection of Paris and the SAMU. This device is subject to the approval of the Prefecture of Police of Paris.

C- Recovery Stands
At the Emile Anthoine stadium, there is a recovery zone with physiotherapists and chiropodists.


The demonstration of the 20 km of Paris is forbidden to all wheel gear (s), except those of the organization or accepted by it, as well as animals.


By registering with the « 20 Kilometers of Paris », you expressly authorize the association « 20 Kilometers of Paris » and its successors (such as partners and media) to use or have used or reproduce or have your name reproduced, Your image, your voice and your sporting performance in connection with the sporting event for any direct or derivative use of the event and in any medium, anywhere in the world, by any means known or unknown to To-day basis and for the entire period of protection currently granted to such direct or derivative operations by the laws or regulations, judicial and / or arbitral decisions of any country and by present or future international conventions, including extensions Which could be made during that period.




In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, you have the right to access and rectify personal data concerning you. The competitor undertakes on his honor not to anticipate the start, to travel the full distance before crossing the finish line and to ensure that his bib, placed on the torso, is completely legible during the race .




Any abandonment of material, any waste stream, outside the premises provided for this purpose will lead to the disqualification of the competitor at fault.




In the event of force majeure, the organizer may at any time terminate the event. Participants will be warned by all possible means, they will then have to comply strictly with the guidelines of the organization. Failure to follow these instructions, will de facto detract, the end of the responsibility of the organizer. The participant will not be entitled to any reimbursement or compensation in this respect.




The organizer reserves the right to cancel the event either at the request of the administrative authority or in case of force majeure. No compensation shall be paid in this respect.

Article 17 : LITIGATION

Any complaint, with a view to a friendly settlement, must be made in writing to the organizer at the following address : Association of 20 Kilometers of Paris – 16 bis, Avenue Prieur de la Côte d’or- CS 40300 – 94114 Arcueil Cedex. This request must be accompanied by a stamped envelope for the response, prepared with the names and address of the recipient, within 30 days after the race. Any dispute must be filed in the competent court.

Art. 18 : Acceptance of this regulation.

The competitor accepts without reservation the present regulation.
