Faced with the exceptional situation that the world has been experiencing for the past year and which particularly affects the sports event sector, we have redoubled our efforts to innovate and maintain a strong presence of the event alongside the runners.
We have decided :
- To keep the two practice methods for the long term: the “historical” version and the new virtual race, which was a great success in 2020
- To accompany our runners in the preparation of les 20km de Paris by organizing 3 connected races of 5km, 10km and 15km which will be progressive intermediate objectives before the 20km of Paris
- To allow as many people as possible to carry out a challenge wherever they are thanks to the 3 distances of the new “connected” races
Thus, we propose to you in a first time to choose between 2 complete packs to prepare you ideally for les 20km de Paris and to win a new and original trophy composed of 4 medals finish

It is also an opportunity for us to assert and display our spirit of solidarity by donating 10€ for each registration to one of our packs to the Institut Curie. Registrations outside the pack will give 5€ to a different charity for each race.

The course is designed to highlight the most beautiful places in Western Paris (Eiffel Tower, Trocadero, Arc de Triomphe, Bois de Boulogne, Roland Garros, Maison de la Radio, Grand Palais, Tuileries, Pont Royal, Berges Rive Gauche…) while maintaining a high level of safety. For elites and competitors, the course is rolling and limited in recovery. It is intended to last in view of the feedback we have received.
This course is festive thanks to the numerous musical animations which mark out it for your greater pleasure and gives you the pep to chain the kilometers.
The configuration of the start and the 23 waves, which are rhythmically set every 3 minutes, ensure an excellent flow without traffic jams on the first kilometers and without congestion at the finish!
The refreshment and hydration zones will be located at the 7th, 14th kilometer and at the finish.
Our “Clean Race” objectives are renewed to be always more eco-responsible and to help us with that, your water bottles will have to be thrown in the containers provided for that purpose. Targets will help you to aim right ! And don’t forget that when you registered, you committed to not throw your waste on the course.
You will take full advantage of the Bois de Boulogne on about 4km all along the allée de Longchamp and the allée de la Reine Marguerite.
When leaving the Bois de Boulogne you will go along Roland Garros by the Boulevard d’Auteuil, then you will take at the Porte Molitor, the Boulevard Murat to take you to the traffic circle of the Porte de Saint-Cloud in order to avoid being zigzagged to reach the quays. This new part will be much smoother, with less curves and a short descent to reach the quays.
Below is the information about the difference in altitude of the race.
The rest of the course will take you on a great Parisian classic, the quays of the Seine! You will walk along the Seine to the Pont Royal passing by the Trocadero, the Grand Palais, the Place de la Concorde and the Tuileries garden.
After crossing the Seine, you will walk along the banks again to the Branly quays.

Les 20 km de Paris village is a place of meetings and exchanges between runners, partners and exhibitors. 35 000 visitors and 50 exhibitors meet during 2 days, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
Numerous animations are proposed during all the opening of the Village. The entrance is free.
The third edition of the 20 kids de Paris will take place on Saturday afternoon, October 9.
The clean race
With its partner hydration St-Yorre, les 20km de Paris has the ambition to make it a clean race. We are in the process of achieving this goal thanks to the actions and awareness-raising measures that have been put in place (collection bins along the course after the refreshment stands, selective sorting of waste, recycling of all the plastic bottles used in the event, sending awareness-raising messages to the participants, etc.). As such, we have obtained the QUITRI label from Citéo guaranteeing these good practices.

The association “20 kilomètres de Paris”, governed by the law of July 1, 1901, was declared to the Prefecture of Police on August 14, 2015
Its main purpose is to organize and promote the “20 Kilometers of Paris” sports event, as well as all sports and cultural activities.
To prepare the event, the president relies on an organizing committee of about twenty people who work throughout the year.
L’EDITO
Dear friends,
Due to the health crisis, 2020 will have been a very complex year for most running organizers: cancellation of events, trade shows, significant financial loss, short-time working and to top it all off … frustrated runners. In many ways, this year will leave a sad memory in our heads!
In June, we had to cancel the race planned for October with a heavy heart, but it was inconceivable for us to do nothing. That’s why we organized a 20 km virtual race to be completed in one go over a period of 4 days in October. With a quality T-shirt and a beautiful medal, this race was a great success and more than 6,500 runners joined us in this new adventure.
So, of course, 2020 leaves a significant financial loss for our association but, as volunteers, we are proud to have stayed the course, to have proposed an alternative and to have been able to collect more than 27 000 € for the benefit of the Pasteur Institute.
Regarding the 2021 edition, even if the hope of a recovery for the summer appears with the vaccinations, the uncertainties are still present. It is not easy to organize and budget events in these conditions but despite everything, we are more than motivated to continue the human and solidarity adventure that les 20 km de Paris represents.
We have therefore created several offers for the benefit of associations such as the Institut Curie, the Nicolas Hulot Foundation, the Abbé Pierre Foundation, Action Against Hunger and Pédiatre du Monde. I let you discover them on the website.
To conclude, I hope that the “positive attitude” will win you over and that together we will make this 43rd edition of the 20 km of Paris a very nice party and a moment that feels good!
Be well, be optimistic and I hope to see you again!
Didier ECK
President des 20 km de Paris
